Isaiah's Writing on the Theme of Surprise
LO: I am using excellent vocabulary, description and technique to write a passage that surprises my reader or my character.
“Come on! We have to work on our science project” urged Zack. It was William’s birthday and his Dad was throwing him a party.
“Let’s go to your hou-“
“No! Your house” Zack interrupted.
Eventually, the boys started to stroll to William’s enormous, three-bedroom house. Zack opened the diamond-encrusted door for Williams to enter casually. The living room was as silent as a graveyard. He didn’t see any presents so that was a downer.
Instantly, the room erupted quickly into
“Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday dear William!
Happy birthday to you!”
William’s jaw dropped like he was gasping for breath. His eyes widened like two black buttons.
“W...w...w...what happened? stammered William
“It’s you’re party” hollered Dad, hugging William with joy. “Do you really think I would forget your party. Here are your pres-“
“Did you guess from the way I was behaving?” Zack interjected.
“Where’s my cake?” William asked
“Here it is. Your favourite, Lemon Drizzle Cake”. Dad answered.
All of his friends were there. Even the most popular girl, Evon was there.
Jack's Writing on the Theme of Surprise
LO: I am using excellent vocabulary, description and technique to write a passage that surprises my reader or my character
Jack and his brother Tom went to go trick or treating on Halloween. Excitedly the boys walked out their street to Jonty Road, they stealthily tip-toed inside, through the gate, and into the front porch. Tom slowly walked towards the door... Jack was scared. Suddenly, the door was flung open faster than Usain Bolt.
Tom whispered faintly to Jack “I think they know were here!”
Jack then said “Helloo?? We only want to trick or treat!!”
Out of nowhere some green dots suddenly started to create a demonic figure of darkness. The figure was starting to form a twisted, evil face. It was like a puzzled being completed. The mouth of the of the green-dotted man opened then spoke.... “TRIIICCCCKKKKK....”
Silently, both of the boys stared at eachother and froze as if they had been froze by a freeze ray. Jack tried to let out a freighting scream... But nothing came out “RUUUUNNN....”
Learning about Forces
Our new project is about forces! To get us in the mood for our new learning and thinking about what we already knew we had a competition....... to throw an egg of the roof of the school! Any team whose egg landed unharmed would win 15 class dojo points! The challenge was on.... how could we dissipate the force of the landing?

What's Under our Nose? Project
We are examining our local area and thinking about what improves it and what damages it. Then we are thinking about what we could do to make it a better place, or make it more sustainable.
